Premier is the next step in your child's development as a soccer player. Premier soccer represents a higher, more challenging, and more competitive level of soccer than is offered through the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL).
“Premier” is a term that is used in reference to the Michigan State Premier Soccer Program (MSPSP). The MSPSP is a statewide league that offers several divisions per age and gender group, with divisions based on the competitive level of each team. After each season, Fall and Spring, the teams are reshuffled within the divisions. Based upon their finish, teams may stay in their division, be promoted to the next division, or be relegated to a lower division. Also, once each year, Premier teams participate in a statewide soccer tournament, known as the State Cup, to determine the top team in each age group.
The MSPSP consists of teams in the U-13 through U-19 age groups. CA United also offers a Premier Developmental Program for players in the U-9 through U-12 age groups. The Developmental teams are registered with US Club Soccer and play in the Michigan Champions League. CA United teams are selected on a competitive tryout basis, with tryouts held between June 15 and June 30 for play the following school year.
