Congratulations CA United Coaches on an “Educational” Winter!

This winter many CA United coaches took advantage of a little down time to further their coaching education. On top of several coaches earning their “E”, “D” and “C” licenses, twenty-one CA United coaches and friends of CA United traveled to Notre Dame’s National Coaching Seminar. Notre Dame coaches Bobby Clark and Randy Waldrum, along with Craig Brown, former Scottish National Team coach, and Notre Dame assistant coaches, conducted the seminar.

This year, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has approved the 2005 Notre Dame National Soccer Coaching Seminar as an "endorsed educational event". The NSCAA endorses certain high-standard coaching education programs with a Professional Development Certificate. The 2005 National Soccer Coaching Seminar qualifies for the Professional Development Certificate by virtue of the fact there is more than 12 hours of instruction, and that it has both Waldrum (an NSCAA National Staff coach), as well as Brown (an Honorary NSCAA National Staff Coach) on the list of clinicians. The Professional Development Certificate qualifies coaches for the NSCAA National Diploma and will be a CEU for the NSCAA's newly developed Master Coach certificate.

CA United also played host to Notre Dame head coach Bobby Clark. Coach Clark conducted two coaching clinics for the coaches of CA United and CASL, utilizing two CA United teams. That same evening Coach Clark spoke about the college recruitment process at the Annual CA United winter meeting.
